Last night the Big Sky area received 6” of snow while everywhere else got 2-4”. Wind is west to southwest at 10-15 mph with gusts of 35 mph. Temperatures are in the high teens. Today will turn sunny and temperatures will reach the mid-30s and snow again tonight. Wind will shift to the southwest at 15-30 mph. By morning the mountains will have 2-3” with another couple inches falling during the day.

The southern ranges received 1-2 inches of snow last night, the northern ranges remained dry. Temperatures are in the 20s F and winds are 10-20 mph from the southwest with gusts of up to 45 mph in Hyalite Canyon. Temperatures in the northern mountains will rise into the 40s F with slightly cooler conditions in the southern ranges and winds will be 10-30 mph from the southwest. The mountains around West Yellowstone and Cooke City will get 2-4” of new snow by morning and the northern ranges will get a trace to 2”.

This morning there is no new snow and wind is 5-15 mph out of the southwest-west. In the northern mountains temperatures are inverted with teens F in the valleys and mid-20s to low 30s F at higher elevations. In the southern mountains temperatures are single digits to teens F. Today temperatures will be high 20s to mid-30s F with southwest wind at 15-25 mph. Tomorrow snow is expected to favor the southern mountains with 1-2” near West Yellowstone by morning and more through the day.

Last night the mountains got 1-3” of low density snow. This morning temperatures are teens to low 20s F and wind is west-southwest at 5-15 mph with gusts of 20-30 mph. Today will be sunny with temperatures in the 20s F and westerly wind at 10-20 mph. Snow is expected early Tuesday with more through the weekend.

A fast moving storm yesterday dropped 6-9” of new snow in the Bridger and Northern Madison Ranges, 5-6” in Hyalite and near West Yellowstone, and 2” near Cooke City. Winds are southwesterly at 15-25 mph with gusts of 30-40 mph. Temperatures are single digits to low teens F and will rise into the mid-teens and low 20s F. Winds will be westerly at 25-35 mph. A trace to 2” of new snow will fall today.

At 6 a.m. there is no new snow. Southerly winds are 10-25 mph with gusts of 30-45 mph and up to 60 mph in Hyalite. Winds will shift more westerly today and blow 20-35 mph. Temperatures are high teens to mid-20s and will stay fairly steady through the day. A quick moving storm this morning will drop 2-4 inches by early afternoon. A second pulse tonight will bring a few more inches to the mountains around West Yellowstone and Cooke City.

There’s no new snow to report, only wind. Weather stations are showing S-SW wind blowing 45-65 mph in Hyalite, and gusts of 35-50 mph elsewhere. Today will remain windy under mostly cloudy skies with temperatures rising from the teens to low 20s. Two to three inches of snow will fall around West Yellowstone tonight with a trace in other ranges.

Squalls yesterday and last night dropped 9” in the Bridger Range, 6” around Cooke City and 2-4” everywhere else. Under partly cloudy skies mountain temperatures are 0F with west to southwest wind blowing steady at 20 mph and gusting to 40 mph. Today will be mostly clear, temperatures will warm to 20F and westerly wind will remain strong and lessen tonight.

The mountains around West Yellowstone and Cooke City received 3-5” of snow in the last 24 hours, Big Sky to the north remained dry. Temperatures were 5-15 F degrees and winds were 10-20 mph from the southwest. Today, West Yellowstone and Cooke City will get 4-8” of snow with 2-3” in the northern ranges. Winds will be 15-30 mph from the southwest and temperatures will be in the teens.

Since yesterday morning new snow amounts range from zero in Hyalite to 12” in the mountains near West Yellowstone. The southern Madison Range and Cooke City got 4-7”, Big Sky got 3-5", and the Bridger Range got 3” near the ski area and 7-10” in the north. Overnight south-southwest wind increased to 15-30 mph with gusts of 30-50 mph. This morning temperatures are single digits to teens F and will remain cold today with highs in the teens F. Wind will shift westerly at 15-30 mph. Light snow is expected today with heavier snowfall overnight and tomorrow. By tomorrow morning 6-10” is possible near West Yellowstone and Cooke City with 2-4” elsewhere.
